Welcome to Hilton!

Welcome to our leafy green "garden suburb" - a friendly and culturally diverse community. Hilton is a fantastic place to live. You only have to drop by "the local" cafe on a weekend to see why. A hive of activity, the smell of fresh coffee and smiles from friendly faces - our community is alive with social, vibrant and community minded people. We value Hilton for its range of community facilities and the diversity within our community. The social significance of Hilton is expressed through our togetherness by being involved in local groups, projects and activities.

We are a small  suburb of approximately 3 km². In 2006, we had a population of 3,160 residents. Hilton has five parks which cover nearly eight percent of its total area all of which provide bright and colourful playgrounds for our younger residents. Our community is aesthetically valued for its parks, streetscapes, mature trees, areas of indigenous vegetation and birdlife. Parks, sitting places and footpaths exhibit the beautiful community art projects that have been created over the years.

Both timber and brick cottages set on large lots, many with mature gardens, contribute to the ambiance of our community and creature a unique streetscape character. As more privately owned homes are being renovated in the area, many new families with young children are moving into Hilton.

Hilton is a growing community.

NYINNINGUP: The Sitting Place
In autumn of 2000 and in the Aboriginal season of Djeran we, the Hilton community come together to express our connection to this place. Each tile was created by a person or family in Hilton in a spirit of togetherness.
